Death

Death and Burial

After the death of Caroline Laney Buzbee, Lawrence Buzbee married Caroline Cordelia Perry, said to be a young widow with two children, living in Ruskin. Lawrence Buzbee and Caroline Perry were married in Hillsborough County, Florida on 28 Jan 1888, only 2 short months after the death of Caroline Laney Buzbee. Lawrence Buzbee and Caroline Perry had 7 children; Nebraska, Arkansas, James Corbett, Hannah Elizabeth, Lawrence Ernest, Ello Myrtice, William Harvey. Caroline Perry Buzbee filed for a Civil War Pension after the death of Lawrence and was denied. No record could be found of his service in the Civil War, even though his son, Marion stated that he visited his father at Stateline Station, Mississippi and that his father worked as a cooper, making salt barrels. Caroline Perry was said to have been married previouly but no record has been found of said marriage and census records show that her maiden name was Perry. She had two children prior to marrying Lawrence Buzbee, Dallas Lemon Perry and Rosa Olivia Perry. I believe that Dallas and Rosa are actually the children of Lawrence Buzbee. Lawrence and Caroline married in 1888, but stated in 1900 census records that they had been married for 16 years. Also, all census records show Caroline’s maiden name as Perry.
