
Henry Moses Hewett was born in Hillsborough County, Florida on 19 June, 1872. He was born to Henry Hewett and Matilda Neel. He was married twice, first to Virginia Swilley of Hillsborough County. His marriage to Virginia produced two children; Annie Belle Hewett and William Henry Hewett. Virginia Swilley was the daughter of Thomas Swilley and Elizabeth Ann Coker. Virginia died on 10 April 1909 at the age of 29. Moses and Virginia’s son, William Henry Hewett died as the result of gunshot wounds on 25 July 1926 after an altercation with Hillsborough County Sheriff, John McCain.

Henry Moses Hewett died 12 Mar 1938 and is buried in the Samford Cemetery in Riverview, Florida. He was buried next to Mellie Buzbee Hewett and her second husband, Quintus Lamarr Elmore. Virginia Swilley Hewett died on 10 Apr 1909 in Hillsborough County, Florida and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery. William Henry Hewett is buried next to his mother, Virginia.
