Annie Bell Hewett was born in Hillsborough County, Florida on 14 Mar 1898. She was born to Henry Moses Hewett and Lucy “Virginia” Swilley. She married James Corbett Buzbee in Hillsborough County, Florida. Corbett (as he was called) and Annie Buzbee had 6 children, Charlie Corbett Buzbee, Lawrence Henry Buzbee, Nan Virginia Buzbee, James Cecil Buzbee, Lillian Cordelia Buzbee, and Annie Belle Buzbee.
Through the years
Corbett and Annie Buzbee lived in the Ruskin area of Hillsborough County and raised their children. All of their children stayed in the Ruskin area and raised their families. Their large family gathered often for holidays and picnics. I fondly remember family dinners at Uncle Charlie’s with the truck beds loaded down with food, everyone sitting on the ground eating and visiting.
Death
James Corbett Buzbee died 28 Jan 1976 in Hillsborough County, Florida. Annie Belle Hewett Buzbee died 27 Aug 1968 in Hillsborough County, Florida. Corbett and Annie are buried side by side in the Fellowship Cemetery in Balm, Florida. Also, buried in their family plot is their daughter, Annie Belle, who died at 14 with lukemia. Sister in law, Grace Perry, wife of Dallas Lemon Perry. Corbett’s mother, Caroline Cordelia Perry. Corbett’s sister and brother-in-law, Hannah Isabelle (Aunt Belle) and Frank C. Salmon. Also, an infant child of Charles and Nan Pitts and infant son of Lawrence H. Buzbee and wife, Leasie.
