Oliver H. and Rebecca Laney Buzbee are living in Coffee County, Alabama in 1850 with 2 small children.
Marriage and Family
Caroline and Rebecca S. Laney married the Buzbee brothers, Lawrence and Oliver Henry. Both couples were married in Dale County, Alabama. It is speculated that the couples had a double wedding. Both families migrated to the Hillsborough County, Florida area shortly before 1870. Oliver Henry Buzbee and Rebecca Secrest Laney had 7 children.
Death and Burial
Rebecca Secrest Laney Buzbee died 19 Jan 1893 in Hillsborough County, Florida. Her burial site is unknown at this time but is believed to be buried in the Barnes and Buzbee cemetery that was located on land belonging to Oliver Henry Buzbee. This cemetery is now gone, efforts to locate this cemetery in earlier years, turned up a few broken headstones and not much else. It is said that the cemetery was plowed under to make room for an orange grove and there is no record that any of the remains were removed and buried else where.
