Marion Augusta Buzbee

Marion Augustus Buzbee married Hannah Boyet on 18 Feb 1872 in Hillsborough County, Florida. There were 6 children born from this union, one dying in either childbirth or early infancy. Surviving children are:

John H. Buzbee was born October 1875 in Hillsborough County, Florida and died cir. 1905 in Polk County, Florida. I do not believe that John ever married, he is living single in 1900 Citrus County, Florida with his family.

Lawrence Leonard Buzbee was born 25 Oct 1878 in Hillsborough County, Florida and died before 1920. Lawrence Leonard Buzbee married Ruby Zebedon, daughter of John Zebendon and Indiana Bates. John Zebendon died in 1921 and his wife, Indiana died in 1916. Lawrence and Ruby had three children before Lawrence died. Their children are: Leonard Clifton Buzbee, Marion Augustus Buzbee Jr. and Katherine Indiana Buzbee. Ruby died sometime before 1930, I believe. Something happened that all three of her children are living with the John C. Grimes family in 1930 Polk County, Florida Census. John C. Grimes was brother-in-law to Lawrence Leonard Buzbee, marrying his only sister, Bessie O. Buzbee. Lawrence Leonard Buzbee registered in the WWI Draft Registration in Polk County, Florida. Jeremiah “Jerry” A. Buzbee was born Mar 1880 in Hillsborough County, Florida and died after 1920. Jeremiah A. Buzbee is not present in the household of his parents in 1910 and further searching in the 1910 census cannot locate him.

Bessie Olar Buzbee was born 05 Feb 1883 in Hillsborough County, Florida and died 25 Sep 1953 in Polk County, Florida and is buried in New Home Baptist Church Cemetery in Lakeland, Polk County, Florida. Bessie Olar Buzbee married John Calhoun Grimes. By 1930, Bessie and John Grimes had four children; Alva B. Grimes, Ruth Grimes, Geraldine Grimes and Nathena Grimes.

Alva B. Buzbee was born Mar 1888 in Hillsborough County, Florida and died in 1909 in Polk County, Florida. It is not know if Alva B. Buzbee ever married.

Marion Augustus Buzbee and wife, Hannah Boyett Buzbee continued to live in Polk County, Florida until their deaths. Marion Augustus Buzbee died 20 Mar 1938 in Polk County, Florida at the age of 89 years, 9 months and 5 days. At the time of this writing, I have not been able to find a death record for Hannah Boyett Buzbee. She is present in the 1910 Polk County, Florida Census. By 1930, Marion Augustus Buzbee is living as a widower with his daughter, Bessie Olar Buzbee Grimes. Marion Augustus Buzbee is buried in the Socrum Cemetery in Polk County, Florida.

Census records for 1900 shows Hannah Boyett Buzbee had 6 children but only 5 living, by 1910 the census shows that she had 6 children and only 2 living; Leonard and Bessie.
