Andrew Hardy Pitts was born the 29th of August 1860 and died on the 25th of August 1945 in Colquitt County, Georgia. He had two marriages, his first marriage was to Nancy Jane Owens. Andrew and Nancy married on the 18 January 1882 in Wilcox County, Georgia. They had 4 children: Hardy A. Pitts, who was born in February 1885; Andy Lee Pitts, who was born in October 1886; Tomey J. Pitts, who was born on the 15th of January 1887 and died on the 12th of September 1888; an infant who was born on the 6th of July 1890 and died on the 15th of July 1890. Nancy Owens Pitts died as a result of the childbirth, she was born on the 29th of January 1867 and died the 21st of July 1890, 15 days after giving birth. Nancy and her infant is buried in the Pitts City Cemetery, in Pitts, Wilcox County, Georgia. Andrew married Clifford Angelina Story just a few short months after the death of his first wife on the 20th of December 1890.
