sisters, Ann Fuller, Jane Bigica and Kay Martin; and three grand-children.
A gathering of friends and family members will take place
6-8 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2006, at Zipperer's Chapel.
Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m.
Tuesday, August 1, 2006, at First Baptist Church in Ruskin.
Interment will follow at Gulf City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests

She is survived by her son, Keith; daughters, Donna and Julie;
her mother, Annie; two brothers; two sisters; eight grandchildren;
and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday,
Nov. 1, 2002, 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Ruskin.
Burial will follow in Gulf City Cemetery in Ruskin.
A visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002
from 2-4 p.m. at Zipperer's Funeral Home.

HAND, Ramona Elizabeth (Denson),
went home to be with her loving Savior on January 26, 2004.
Preceded in death by her husband, Leon; son, Joel;
daughter-in-law, Opal (Parrish) Hand; and grandson, Ronald Hand Sr.;
she is survived by three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren;
13 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister. The family will
receive friends Jan. 30, 2004, from 4-6 p.m. for a viewing at Zipperer's
Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004 at
11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Gulf City Cemetery.

HAND, Ronald Leon Sr., 53, of Englewood,
passed away May 22, 2001. He is survived by
his loving family and friends.Mr. Hand was born April 18, 1948
in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was a member of Calvary Baptist
Church, Englewood, and owned and operated Grandpa's Garden, a fresh
vegetable and produce store in Englewood. Visitation will be Friday,
May 25, at 9-10:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, immediately prior
to the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. with Rev.
Dr Wallis C. Metts, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at
1:00 p.m. at Gulf City Cemetery ,Ruskin.

Malachi C. Higgins - 28 Apr 2007 HIGGINS, Malachi C. "Mal," 47, of Sun City, Fla., passed
away April 28, 2007. He was a teacher at Ruskin Elementary School and
children's pastor at River of Life Christian Centers. He was preceded
in death by his mother, Frances Higgins. Survivors include his
father, Norris: a brother, Ray; five aunts; three uncles and several
cousins. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the
funeral service at the church. Funeral service will be 11 a.m.
Saturday, May 5, 2007, at the River of Life Christian Center-South
Campus, Wimauma, Fla. Burial Gulf City Cemetery , Sun City. In lieu

Thomas James Parrish 16 Sep 1955 14 Nov 2000 PARRISH, Thomas James, 45, of Ruskin passed away at his
residence on Tuesday November 14, 2000. He is the son of the late
Wilson Parrish; and is survived by his mother, Ruth Parrish; sister,
Linda Harris; brother, Gary Parrish; nephews, Ed and David Harris,
Michael and Joel Parrish; and nieces, Leslie Harris and Arron Harris.
He was crane operator at Part Manatee for many years. Tommy was a
fourth generation Florida native, living in Ruskin all of his life.
His roots ran deep in Florida giving him a great love for its
beautiful woods, wildlife and waterways, especially Tampa Bay. He was
a kind gentle man with a heart of gold who gave unselfishly to those
he loved and those in need.
He will be sadly missed by all whose lives he touched. A visitation
for family and friends will be held Sunday November 19, from 5:00 to
7:00 p.m. at Lewers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday at
11:00 a.m. at Lewers Funeral Home with Pastor Don Tanner officiating,
interment in the Gulf City Cemetery .

in Sun City Center. Born in Tampa, he was an operator for
Freeport-McMoran Agrico Chemical Co. He came from a Tampa pioneer
family who immigrated from Denmark in 1860 and was the founder of
Gulf City Cemetery , Ruskin. He was a commercial fisherman, an avid
hunter and gardener. Survivors include his wife, Vivian; two sons,
Ronald, Ruskin, Harry ""Rodney,'' Sun City Center; three daughters,
Harriet Selner Sutherland, Betty Jo Casti llo and Maxine Simmons, all
of Ruskin; three sisters, Alyce Bellanca, Tampa, Ruth Parish, Ruskin,
and Jackie Bryan, Amarillo, Texas; six grandchildren; and three

Ruskin. Her family was one of the commercial fishing-pioneer settlers
of Ruskin. She was the owner and operator of Marian's Sub Shop for 38
years. Marian knew how to make a great sub. She was preceded in death
by her mother, Maude. She is survived by her son, Joe Sumner II;
grandchildren, Elizabeth Barfield, Joe Sumner III, Ashlee Sumner,
Jennifer Medina and Tawana Tanner; and three great-grandchildren. A
visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at Lewers
Funeral Home. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the
funeral home, with interment following at Gulf City Cemetery . A
reception will follow the interment at Marian's house.
